This is actaully an update of yesterday, forgot to post.
Worked 8-12 then took off at lunch for a 90 minute ride. Headed out to Tumalo Creek. It's a short ride, maybe only 20 miles round trip but 10 of it is a steady climb. So took about an hour to get out there and 30 minutes to get back. Beautiful day, awesome ride. The cool thing about it is it's one long road. So I just take a right 2 blocks for my place and ride straight. No stops, no cars after the first mile because the road dead ends when it reaches the creek (National Forest).
Beautiful bridge and creek at the end and just National Forest. Matt and I will try to headout there and hike this week, find some fishing spots. Beautiful taking a few minutes to watch the water flow and breath in the fresh air. Seems with every ride I do, I just fall in love with this place more. So glad I just picked up and moved out here. Definitely a good decision. Now that Matt is here its better. Good to have a friend/brother around. He seems to really like it. Seems each week he hooks up with another athlete to train with. This week it was Conrad Stoltz, Top Pro Xterra racer. Also tons of physical therapists and massage therapists here that used to be pro cyclists or pro triathletes. I even heard Gerry Garcia, the legendary surfer, moved up here to start building snowboards.
Next is to get some of my friends from back in Norcal to move up here. some of my riding buddies, can't ride with Matt and his group - at least not yet
.
New proposed daily schedule
I made another change to my schedule in an attempt to try and be more consistent with training and My Work. At least until the Sanity Savings Fund is deep enough for me to take a risk.
6:30-8 Trifuel, Breakfast, Stretching/Weights
8-12 Job
12-3 Lunch - Main training session. Bike/Run/Swim.
3-7 Trifuel and AER (Adventure & Endurance Research) projects - my work. Usually this ends up going to bedtime, but I'm going to try to start cutting things off earlier.
Working out of a home office can be tough because I seem to always be on the computer. There's no point of turning off the light and leaving the office like in my past jobs. I need to learn to stick to this type of schedule and just let projects roll to the next workday rather than continually try to finish everything in one long day. I need to get out during the day to take advantage of my surroundings. That is why I moved up here…
