Well, that time of year coming around again. So, time to put together my list of resolutions, more or less. I’ve never been very good at tracking this list after week one, so often get a little frustrated when I find it under a clutter of other papers 6 months later and I haven’t made much progress on them. I think they’ve always been big goals, like write a book, do an Ironman (hey, did that - sweet), start my own company (hey did that too - LLC’d Trifuel this year).
On a side note, I’m the CEO (chief endurance officer) of Trifuel and Matt is the CTO (chief training officer)
— so clever!
Anyway, back to my resolutions. When I sat down to write this I was a little cynical as the failed resolutions were on my mind. But as I write, I guess I accomplished some — maybe not in said year, but perhaps re-writing them down every year makes them eventually come to being. So, without further ado, my list ‘in progress’ of ‘07 resolutions, more or less…
Workout more.
Work less.
Consume veggies more.
Consume dairy, flour, sugar, coffee less.

Drink water more.
Drink beer less… — o.k. who am I trying to kid - let’s keep it realistic and not set myself up for failure. drink water more, drink beer less… than water. much better!
Simplify more.
Less random projects. — basically more clarity of purpose for work, nurture key projects; trifuel, Endurance Report, ?.
It is not in what you succeed in doing that you get your joy, but in the doing of it. — Jack London
Less concern over the monetary and competitiveness.
More photography.
Less ?
More savings.
Less debt.
More muscle.
Less fat.
More outdoor, play, me & streatley time…
Less hunched over computer…
Live, Risk, Dream More.
Fear Less.
I may add more (or less) stuff as it comes to me, but these are my lifestyle, big picture, focus resolutions.

…coming up with post titles
Cold and puffy today. Hitting that age where the cold air makes me wake up with puffy face
. It’s around 15 degrees right now, burr… Had to go to the coffee shop to work, still too cold in the house.
Yesterday ran for 40 minutes. Was a good run but cold as well. My feet and legs kinda ached a bit until they warmed up about 10 minutes in. Interesting running in the cold and being able to literally feel the air enter end exit your lungs. Starting to put together my training plan for ‘07. Just going to do random stuff for the rest of the month. Fying out to Texas for Christmas on Thursday so can’t really get into a set schedule just yet. Probably run mostly until the 1st. Then 2 months of prep/base, then my 6 month plan to Wisconsin. BigMatt is going to Australia, bastard
, to train, leaves January 20th or so. Awesome for him to be able to take this trip, but leaving me in the cold and without my winter motivator. On my own this season then, but feel good and confident about my plans.
I think I’m gonna finally try to use my trifuel founders status to make some equipment upgrades. Most think I sport the top stuff because of the site and my brothers, but truth is I never wanted to use that to get free stuff. I’m still riding the same Look road bike with bent aerobars that I rode before I started the site. I have a hand-me-down wetsuit from Chris, but that’s about it. So, this year I’m gonna get a true tri bike and a proper fit. So now it’s a matter of money and if I can get a deal then that means less out of pocket costs that can go to site stuff and paying the ‘other’ bills. Anyway we’ll see how it goes.
Just finished How Lance Does It, I posted my review on Trifuel. A good book on the principles and formula Lance uses to achieve his success.
Reading Jack Daniels guide to running. That’s not the book on how to crawl from your barstool to the taxi cab, but rather how to improve your running.
Until next time.

Well, it’s that time of year again. At least for me. Time to start getting a little more focused on my base training going into the new year. Next years ‘A’ race is Wisconsin Ironman, along with another attempt at Pacific Crest. Additional races may be Vineman and then some local endurance stuff. So, time to put together a pre/base plan. And work that up to March when I’ll begin another 6 month focused plan for the September Ironman. Need to focus on strength, flexibility, nutrition, and get in enough base miles to hit the running when the winter ends.
I’m looking forward to next years progress. This year was more about getting some type of base for the Iron distance and working up to those long rides and runs. So, it wasn’t until the end of my season that I really started putting in the 100+ mile rides, then I had to taper for Canada, then I kind of took the rest of the time off
. So looking forward to going into 2007 with those miles in my pocket and trying to pick it up relatively soon and take advantage of more regular 100 mile rides and 2+ hour runs.
So, what have I been doing with my time? Well, trying to get things in shape for 2007 form a work standpoint. Been spending a lot of time working on other projects and trying to make some improvements to Trifuel. Unfortunately hitting a lot of technical snags so some of my plans won’t be possible out of the gate, but still working on improvements to the site, a team Trifuel, and more ways to bring endurance news and info to those of us whom can’t get enough.
On that point, some may be wondering why Feedstoke has kind of slowed down to a crawl. Well, I determined the name was not clear enough. Something I should have known from name issues I’ve had with Trifuel. For some reason I like food analogies?
Anyway, I’ve made some improvements on the design, some new functionality will be coming, and I changed the name and URL to Endurance Report. Decided it should have more of a news feel and a name that would be pretty self explainitory. So now it’s over there. I moved those of you with Feedstoke accounts, so you should be able to log in with the same username/password. I’m really excited about this project for 2007. Hoping it will give more information and bring a greater awareness to endurance sports and the healthy lifestyle. Anyway, there’s that plug and update - sorry
Oh, and I will blog more for 2007 (more a statement for myself). The plan is to get the tech stuff out of the way and focus on content next year, which will include this blog for those interested in what I’m doing. All 3 of you
